Chicken Liver Paté & Gamay
Ingredients from Trader Joe’s
What you need:
Chicken Liver
Heavy Cream
Sour cream or cream cheese (optional)
Unsalted Butter
Chopped Onion & Garlic
Thyme
Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Cayenne
Instructions:
Rinse the livers with cold water and drain well.
Add about 2 tablespoons of butter and add chicken livers.
Add cayenne, salt, and pepper, and sauté the livers until completely done.
Remove livers from the pan and set aside.
Add another 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and sauté the garlic and onions.
With a blender or food processor, blend the livers, garlic, and onions.
Add heavy cream and cream cheese a little at a time until smooth.
Taste and add more seasonings if needed.
Add the paté mixture to a jar with lid. Before you close the lid, cover the paté with plastic wrap and make sure the plastic touches the paté. (this prevents a fatty layer from forming)
Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
Garnish with thyme.
Serve with crackers or bread
