Bourbon French Toast
Ingredients
What you need:
Thick Bread (challah, brioche, or French bread)
Eggs
Milk or heavy cream
Sugar
Cinnamon
Allspice
Nutmeg
Cloves
Butter
Bourbon
Optional Cranberry Sauce:
Fresh Cranberries (2 cups)
Sugar (1 cup)
Water (1 cup)
Any citrus juice (lemon, lime, orange)
Cinnamon
Allspice
Nutmeg
Cayenne
Instructions:
Cut the bread into thick slices
In a wide bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, spices, and bourbon.
Dip both sides of the bread into the mixture.
Set the bread aside on a rack.
Heat a non-stick pan or cast iron and melt butter.
Sear both sides of the bread.
If you like your French toast extra crispy, bake/air fry them for about 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and mint.
For the cranberry sauce, add all of the ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and reduce until you have your desired thickness. Add a little corn starch if you like your cranberry sauce very thick.
